Dremm Packaging Ltd

What is R&D?

Research and Development (R&D) tax credits are a government incentive intended to promote R&D in the UK.

Mike had to redesign and remanufacture a plastic bottle top lid. DREMM had manufactured the product previously, but flaws were noted. Therefore, DREMM’s team redesigned the lid, improving its performance. At the same time, they experimented with different materials in an attempt to make the process more environmentally friendly.

Before production began, custom tooling was designed and manufactured. Since this had not previously existed, an advance had been achieved. Next, Mike and his employees sought to develop their injection moulding process to make it more efficient. Queen’s Lane Consultants was able to claim a significant amount of the employee time that was dedicated to this and other projects, as well as costs associated with the tooling and materials.
