Our client undertook the design and manufacturing of bracketry and mounting fixtures for cabaret speakers intended for high-end cruise ships. These speakers, large and mounted on the extremities of vessels, were subjected to significant torsional forces due to the ship's rocking and vibrations.

Existing industry designs were inadequate to withstand these conditions, so the client set out to improve the stability and durability of the mounting rigs, qualifying the project as R&D.

Innovating stable mounting for cabaret speakers

The key challenge was to ensure the bracketry could counteract the torsional effects caused by the ship's movements. The company developed novel jigs to achieve strict tolerances in the manufacturing process, ensuring the mounting rigs were secure despite the extreme conditions at sea.

Their efforts were not only focused on improving the mounting fixture’s robustness but also on maintaining precision and safety - a vital consideration for high-end cruise ships.

Incorporating dampening to counteract vibrations

In addition to structural stability, the company sought to incorporate dampening effects into the bracketry, addressing the issue of mechanical resonance. Drawing on scientific principles, they aimed to replicate the effect of specialist dampening equipment within the brackets themselves.

This innovative solution allowed them to overcome resonance and ensure the cabaret speakers remained stable during the ship’s journey.
